    Recently, the 31st Meeting of Technical Working Committee on Working Environment of Communication Power Supply and Communication Bureau Station was held in Beijing. The Water Chiller for Telecom Internet Data Center drafted by China Unicom, Gree Electrical Appliances, China Communication Research Institute, China Mobile, Huawei, Invid, Schneider, Taiheng Refrigeration, Haixin and other companies successfully passed the approval of the expert group and became the industry standard of water chiller for data center.            With the rapid development of cloud computing and Internet, and the acceleration of information construction in China, China's data center market has entered a period of rapid development, and the scale of data center infrastructure industry has developed rapidly.            Up to now, the total number of data centers in China has exceeded 550,000, and the annual power consumption exceeds 1.5% of the total social power consumption. Data center energy consumption mainly includes information equipment, air conditioning equipment and power supply equipment. PUE (power usage effectiveness) is the ratio of the annual total power consumption of data center to the annual power consumption of information equipment. PUE is the primary consideration in the construction of data center. At present, the PUE of data center in China is generally higher than 2.0, and the proportion of air-conditioning system is about 40%. The energy consumption of air-conditioning system is too high. How to reduce the air-conditioning system has attracted much attention of data center industry.            According to the analysis of "White Paper on Application of Air Conditioning System in Data Center", the best energy-saving scheme of central air conditioning in Data Center is "using high water temperature and high efficiency chiller" and "making full use of natural cold source at low ambient temperature". The traditional comfortable air conditioning design operation point does not correspond to the data center cooling operation point, which results in the performance deviation of the main compressor components from the optimal operation point, which is not conducive to the full performance and efficient operation of the unit. The design point of the special chiller in data center is consistent with the actual operation point to ensure the efficient operation of the chiller.            It is understood that there is a lack of evaluation standards for data center chillers in the industry at present. The traditional energy efficiency standard GB 19577 can not truly evaluate the actual operation energy efficiency of data center chillers. The operators of communication industry can not distinguish the actual energy efficiency level of data center chillers when bidding, and the bidding market is chaotic.            In order to standardize the market of water chillers in data centers, promote energy-efficient products and promote energy-saving construction of data centers, many companies jointly drafted the industry standard "Water chillers for telecommunications Internet data centers".            This standard was first discussed at the 28th Plenary Session of Beijing Communication Power Supply and Communication Bureau Station Working Environment on December 15, 2016. In 2017, standard discussions were held in Hefei, Beijing and Zhuhai, respectively. Until the approval and adoption of this conference, it formally became an industry standard.            The industry standard "Telecom Internet Data Center Chiller" will be widely used in communication, cloud data and other fields after its release. It can effectively standardize the market of data center chillers, promote the popularization and application of high temperature chillers and high efficiency frequency chillers, and promote the green energy-saving construction of data center.
